Saturday Night

I have been working and playing on this computer for most of the day, but it’s been kind of fun. My husband thinks I’m obsessed but whatever. I have an English group presentation due in a couple weeks so I have been compiling info and designing power points and stuff and it’s really fun! I just did Atwood’s bio, pretty boring and straight forward. But I put some colour into the slides so it’s funky. Right now I am drinking heady Australian red , rich and pure. It makes me a little high and a lot happy.  I hear my girl over the monitor, my husband is reading her a bed time story. She is now screeching like she has lost her best friend and we try our best not to run in and console. We’re getting better. Funny, she’s good as gold with the baby sitter. Humm… Ok, now my husband is worried I have a problem so I have to post and join him for the hockey game. Go Leafs.

  1. It’s Tuesday, snow is falling like dandruff. I love winter but I despise flu season. Why do they both come at the same time?

  2. Hey Sheri, it’s nice to have someone eager to comment and engage in this blogging community. Hopefully others will join us and yes, Anita would like us to monitor each others blogs throughout the semester so we don’t have to fill in our evaluations at the last minute and risk not being as thorough as we could. I did the blogs last semester and that is what seemed to happen by the end. I also found myself unhappy with the participation in my blogging group so hopefully we’ll have some great discussions.

Wow, I’m really interested in this monologue of yours. You do radio yes? I’m not as confident as I could be in public speaking. Recently at the Laurentian Model Parliament I received an award for Best Speech but I was definitely nervous and probably just sounded angry as I critiqued the opposition party’s bill. It was definitely a great experience. As for my publications, I’ve just submitted poem after poem to local and provincial student magazines and I write for the school paper and if at first they weren’t as enthusiastic about my work, I just persisted and eventually they warmed up to some of my other work. But luckily I’ve had a lot of success so far! When I eventually devote my time to something longer than a poem or a short story I might find myself perhaps a little more challenged but I think that’s apart of the thrill and experience!

Anyways, looking forward to reading your stuff!

    Sincerely,
    Nicole
